2018| We were back at our yearly holiday once more but it was pretty different this time round. There are several milestones to look forward to in the lifespan of your entire NS term. When you ORD - because when you are just 20, you really feel that this is the beginning of the the rest of your life. When you begin reservist - because you realize that NS is really a 12-15 year journey instead of it just being a 2 year period. When you finish ATEC stage 2 - this is where you rejoice because it means NO MORE OUTFIELDS and you can start seeing your finish line. Finally when your ROD - this is where you kiss NS goodbye (we aren't here yet)
Our reservist this year was pretty serious. It wasn't any of the milestone years but this as near as it can be to the real thing for us. We were just thankful that we made it through unscathed after all the scare stories that we heard in the course of the 3 weeks. Obviously we were pretty happy at our final dinner where we also bade our beloved PC goodbye as he has served his entire 10 cycle term --> think it spanned over 15 years?
